Who Am I?

I’m a qualified Psychotherapist and Performance Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Loughborough University; one of the world’s leading institutions for sport psychology. I’m also a keen tennis player myself, so can assist with warming up, ball feeding for practice drills, or support in taking certain strategies straight over to the court.

My Story

When I was younger, I played football to a high level as a goalkeeper at Liverpool FC’s Academy. Like many athletes, I had dreams of going all the way to becoming professional but major injury cut that path short, and in the absence of the right support, my playing career was forced to end earlier than it should.

This experience stayed with me and fuelled my desire to help athletes achieve their own sporting ambitions, making sure they have the support I never did.

What I Discovered?

After qualifying as a Psychotherapist a few years after my Masters, I was struck by how quickly my clients were recovering from the most severe forms of distress, often in fewer than four sessions. I was helping military veterans with complex forms of PTSD, survivors of long-term abuse, and those at their rock bottom feeling suicide was their only other option.

The speed and depth of transformation I witnessed was unlike anything I’d learned in my Sport Psychology training. It showed me that when you work with the emotional control centre of the brain, deep rooted change can occur much faster and more effectively than many people realise is possible.

Applying These Transformations to Professional Athletes

I began applying these same methods in sport and the results were immediate. Gymnasts started brushing off mistakes as if they never happened, golfers quickly overcame yips, footballers found themselves locking into peak flow match after match, and tennis players began winning those key points where pressure once stole their game.

Why Tennis?

On top of tennis being my passion, it’s also where I see the biggest need. Margins are so razor-thin in this sport where unforced errors, doubles faults, and sudden swings in momentum often decide careers. Traditional sport psychology tools I’d learned in my Masters weren’t enough by themselves. But combining my Psychotherapy techniques with my academic training, experience in high-level sport, and my passion and understanding of tennis, created something new.

That’s why I launched Peak Mindset Tennis; to offer a level of mental conditioning that doesn’t exist anywhere else in elite tennis and to give players a way to own those 6-7 pressure moments that define their match results and careers.

About Page Mission

My Mission

I want to build performance partnerships with players who are serious about breaking through. Players ready to climb the rankings, earn more prize money and break firmly onto the highest level of the tour. I want players to enjoy the sport they’ve put so much risk and effort into and reap the rewards their tennis deserves, controlling their life on tour rather than it consuming them.
